After four hard-played matches over two days, Recon sponsored VMFC are through to the knockout stages of the Football World Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The boys will be taking a well deserved day's rest on Wednesday to recover from the battle of four matches over the previous two days.
The first match against the Argentinian favourites didn't go as planned, with the Argentinians leading 1-0 at half time. Quickly in the second half, the Argentinins began to dominate the match and were able to score three goals past the VMFC defence.
The following three fixtures saw the boys change from their traditional red kit into their new white away kit. We can surely name this as their "lucky footy kit" as they responded to the first match defeat with 3 impressive performances.
This was a huge turnaround in the fortunes of the club as the boys strongly dominated each of the matches that were played against the international opposition. In just two days, they have managed to score 28 goals, winning the their final three fixtures from day one and two of the tournament.
The club's next match will be Uraguay on Thursday 27th.
Results:
VMFC 0-4 Argentina
