Today is World AIDS Day. A day where we remind ourselves of the still very real, ongoing fight against HIV and AIDS around the world.
Over the past 10 years Recon has run an annual campaign to raise money for HIV and AIDS based charities. During this time, our members have raised an incredible amount for these causes, and helped make a valuable difference. We ask again today that our members continue this fight.
As you may have seen, over the past month we've given members the ability to add a red ribbon to their profile for free. This is to show support for those effected by HIV and AIDS. We're also asking, where possible, for our members to donate to our chosen charity, GMFA. Members can do so for the duration of our campaign, running till 3 January 2017.
This World AIDS Day we wanted to take the opportunity to thank anyone who has already donated. We would also like to ask those of you who have not yet done so, and who have some money to spare, to please make a donation. It would a massive help to GMFA – an incredible charity created by gay men to bring HIV awareness to our community – and it would be greatly appreciated by all here at Recon.
