Today's the day we launch our annual World AIDS Day campaign. For the past eight years Recon members have generously donated over £151,000 ($242,000/€192,000) for worldwide AIDS charities.

For a second year in a row all the money from this year's campaign will go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust – a global trust that's responsible for raising awareness and funding for AIDS charities worldwide. They do great work, and we're only too happy to help them in this way.

Over the next two months you'll be seeing loads of Recon profiles with virtual red ribbons. These ribbons show those members who have made donations. We will kick off the efforts by donating £2,500 ($4,000/€3,200) and we welcome you to donate to the cause as well. All donations will receive a virtual red ribbon that will appears on your profile until 31 December.

Last year you donated over £16,000 ($25,600/€20,400), and this year we want to see if you can top it with a goal of £20,000 ($32,000/€23,000). Donating couldn't be simpler. The donate button will take you to our page on JustGiving.com, where you can decide on how much you want to give. The size of the donation is up to you; no amount is too small and every contribution helps this important cause.
