Charitable Giving through Recon
Here at Recon, we want to support good causes and our community; not just provide our members with fantastic events and a forum for hot guys to cruise.
You might not be aware, but we have a fund for charities, not-for-profit organisations and community groups to benefit directly from. We donate to charities and not-for-profit organisations supporting mental or sexual health within the male gay community, as well as organisations that champion or support relevant interests of the wider LGBTQ+ communities.
We give several types of contributions from cash donations (up to £20,000), global and regional advertising, membership subscriptions, and prizes for raffles.
Every year, we choose one charity or non-profit organisation to be our featured charity for one entire year. This charity receives a monetary donation from Recon, advertising and fundraising throughout the year. They also are the likely recipient of our yearly World AIDS day fundraising. Last year, it was the National AIDS Trust.
Twice a year, we also select organisations to receive smaller monetary donations and advertising on Recon. For groups running events within our community, we donate raffle prizes which include goody bags, t-shirts and free memberships.
How can I apply?
Our application deadline for our featured charity is 20 May 2018. Other applications can be made all year round and should be submitted using the online contact form. Further details can be found using the link below.
If you work for a charity, or know one that fits our criteria, please pass this information to them. If you run community events, we'd love to hear from you too.
Our other recipients last year include the Leather Archives and Museum, AIDS Community Care Montreal and the Dean Street Charitable Fund.
