Over the past seven years Recon has raised over £ 135,000 ($ 218,000 / € 158,000) for worldwide AIDS charities around the world. Every year 100% of the proceeds go directly to charity.
Our chosen charity of the year is The Mercury Phoenix Trust. The Trust was set up in 1992 in memory of Freddie Mercury and to date has given away over $15,000,000 to over 300 charities around the world.
The fundraiser is quite simple. We kick off the efforts by donating £ 2,500 and encourage members to purchase a virtual red ribbon. The virtual red ribbons will prominently appear on your profile on both the website and our apps until 31 December.
World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Around thirty million people are living with HIV throughout the world - and that number increases every day.
The size of the donation is up to you, no amount is too small. All donations will remain confidential and your name will not appear anywhere.
Together we can help stop the spread of HIV and prejudice.
