A New Year’s Message from the Founder & Managing Director of Recon.

For starters let me wish all of you a happy and healthy New Year and thank you all for your continued support. We are about to embark on our 12th year and it goes without saying that none of this would be possible without your continued support, patience and feedback. Recon is an online community and our members not only keep us in business, they are what create our business and in turn our extended family. I want to personally thank all of you for help making Recon the world’s most popular website for men into fetish. We have come a long way in 12 years and we still have quite a way to go in making Recon as good as we’d like it to be.
We started out as a very small, one man operation called worldskins.com in 2000. As a member of the fetish community I realized there was a gap in the market and I wanted to create a community where fetish minded perverts like me could freely express themselves and meet other likeminded men. It was a labour of love that slowly and steadily grew into the worldwide community and successful business that we now have. In 2004 we merged worldskins and some other fetish specific sites under the name Recon. The site has grown since those early days and I am now very proud of the fact that we have hundreds of thousands of members in over 150 countries. It took a great deal of hard work and time but I am very lucky in the sense that I get to work with and for a community I am still very proudly a member of.
Let’s get back to the present! 2011 was primarily about a lot of “back end” improvements; replacing our IT infrastructure and improving the performance and speed of the site. In 2012 we are planning on some exciting changes and improvements that will be more visible to our daily users. For starters we will be launching our new and improved Message Centre within the next week. It will be faster, with a cleaner design and lots more functionality than the current Message Centre. More details on this to come VERY shortly. On the mobile front we will be launching a drastically improved new iPhone App (thank you for your patience) and will also begin working on an Android App. The iPhone App will be easier to use, have more functionality, better designed and above all will be much more stable so you can always find the nearest perverts.
In 2011 we added a French language option to Recon and in 2012 we will be adding Spanish, so watch out for a lot more hot Latin men on the site (we can’t wait!) Additional functionality we will be adding include a Travel feature so you can better plan your holiday travels and find local “tour guides” that much easier. Lastly we will be making some enhancements to the popular Events section of the site, making it easier to coordinate your event planning. You can also plan on some big changes to the feel and look of the site; we think it’s time for a bit of a nip and tuck.
In closing we want to thank you again for your support as well as your patience and feedback. Your contribution to our site has been the backbone of our success, and we want to keep it that way. We are an incredibly dedicated bunch but there are only about a dozen of us so sometimes things take a bit longer then we’d like. Please keep in mind we are very passionate users of the site ourselves and no decision is taken lightly. We plan on adding some new staff in 2012 (if anyone knows any developers send them our way) and in the meantime the whole team will be working their butts off so stay tuned for more!
