What do I get up to at the Recon Store?
It's hard to explain my 'position' (no pun intended) at Recon. Do I spend most of my time naked? Yes and no... Mostly NO! But Tuesday afternoon I was walking around the office filming a video in the Recon Jock ... and an hour later I was packaging up store orders. Wednesday morning saw me tackling some difficult customer support, then getting into the new Nasty Pig tights for a quick photo! My job is unpredictable so say the least.
Here's a brief synopsis of a day in the life of Daniel...
10:00 - 10:30 - Always check my diary to see what's going on, then it's on to checking the Recon Store emails... Always something weird and wonderful to keep me entertained. E.g. 'Will my head fit this hood?', 'I can't see the checkout button', or 'Can I collect my rim seat?'
10:30 - 11:00 - Short scrum with the different departments to discuss what's going on @Recon. It's an opportunity for everyone to share what they have planned for the week, and what we all need from each other.
11:30 - 13:00 - Busy time in the Recon Store picking out all the gear from our warehouse to be packed up and booked by 13:00!
13:00 - 13:30 - Quick walk to the shop, a catch-up with the guys in Marketing, a speedy, high protein lunch then a wiz through Facebook!
14:00 - 14:30 - My weekly meeting with Matyas (colourful, sticker loving designer who's responsible for editing a lot of the videos we make) and Will (infamous for his debut in the gunge video and earning the title of 'the cute producer' by gunge enthusiasts). This is a creative meeting where we discuss concepts for future projects.
14:30 – 15:00 - I seem to have developed a bond with our various delivery guys. One of them is just back from holiday after a painful divorce. Another had an interview for a new job, just joined the gym and is renovating his bathroom from scratch! One poor guy had an iPhone stolen from his truck and really hates his new route! I wonder if they have any idea what they are even delivering? Maybe the Fed Ex guy, who asked if that was me on a leaflet wearing a rubber catsuit might have an idea.
15:00 -16:00 - Spending some time liaising with suppliers making sure the store inventory is up to date! Rudely interrupted by Matyas and Will who get me to try on the new Recon Muscle T! They work their magic and produce a really cool social post! Back to the store to get out those afternoon orders before 17:00!
17:00 - Day usually ends with me having a quick browse of our social platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) to keep up with everything new.
